CBC - About Us

Welcome to the home page of Clackmannan Bowling Club. Our Bowling Club is situated to the north of the River Forth, 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Alloa, with picturesque views of the Ochil Hills.

Our Club has a long and successful history since being established in 1886 (2011 being our 125th Anniversary). The club has a thriving membership of around 200 and we are always looking to welcome new playing and social members into the club.

Throughout this site you will find further information as to what Clackmannan Bowling Club has to offer our community. From Bowling, Pool, Darts and numerous social events we can offer something to suit everyone.

Clackmannan Bowling Club is always open to new members, Application Forms from the 'Members Page', along with current fees. If you would like to try bowls before commmitting to membership please contact clubhouse or any member of the Committee.

Opening Day 2nd April 2011

Clackmannan Bowling Club held their Green Opening on Saturday 2nd April. Vice President Ian Blyth presided, with Ladies President Jan Rennie throwing the first Bowl. The Club was celebrating its 125th Birthday and enjoyed an excellent turnout. Meal was provided by Secretary John Rennie, who gives thanks to Bar Staff and Yvonne Prentice for assistance.

Live Music was provided at night and the day Was a huge success, thanks to all members who attended.

Clubhouse

Clackmannan Bowling Club is a members club, all facilities are available to members and their signed guests.

The Clubhouse has a large comfortable seating area catering for 110 customers.

The well stocked bar has a large variety of spirits on offer, along with 2 lagers - Fosters & Mcewans on draught; We also have John Smiths for the beer drinkers. The fridges hold a good selection of bottles and cans for those who like the specialist lagers & Beers.

The Club has live entertainment once a month throughout the year. The Bands over the last 18 months or so have been excellent covering everything from Abbamania, The Diva's, Neil Diamond and many more. Visting the 'Social' Page will give you advance notice of the Bands/Groups we have booked for the Future Months.

Grant Award

We were lucky to have applied for and been granted an award by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, The CRT agreed to award a grant to the value of £9 424 (Work Completed February 2009), to assist us to repair the 'Green Edges' that have been deteriorating for a number of years. In addition to this, the Grant Award also covers replacement of the aging watertank, a new waterpump & Sprinkler Heads. This will helps us to continue to have the best playing surface in the area for some years ahead.
